Stages of Being a Bookworm

Hey Dreamers! Today, I have a fun little post for you guys. I was going to do a ‘Sketchbook Tour’, but I had this idea and I thought it would be fun.

One day, I was just watching art videos and I came across this video called The Stages of Being an Artist. I realized that being a bookworm has stages as well. So, I decided to write a post about that, so here I am. Some of the thing I say, may not apply to you, or maybe all of them won’t apply to you, but I hope you enjoy!

  • The first stage is probably when you’re about 2-4 years old. You haven’t learnt how to read, but your parents read to you. You absolutely love listening to your parents when they read to you and always want them to. And when, your parents don’t have the time to read to you, you flip through the pictures and look at each one.
  • The next stage, is when you’re about 4-6 years old. You’re learning how to read in school and it excites you. At home, you try to read all the books you have. Even the ones your parents have already read to you. You enjoy flipping the pages and figuring out each word and imagining the story in your head. You enjoy it a lot more than your classmates and you always want to read more.
  • The stage after that, is when you’re in Elementary school. You start realizing, that you would rather stay inside and read, rather than play in recess. You thrive in your Language Arts class, and it makes you happy when your teacher gives you silent reading time. You wait eagerly for the day your class gets to go to the library to look at books. You talk to the librarian and you always look for a good book.
  • The last stage, is Middle School. It’s the stage where I’m at. I can’t go ahead because I’m not there yet. This is the stage where you’ve developed a huge love for books. You know that you’re a bookworm and all your friends do too. You go to the school library whenever you get the chance and it’s your happy place. This is most likely the time where you start getting book projects, like book reports and things like that. Most likely, you enjoy doing those, because it gives you a chance to read. While your classmates, just read because they have to, but while you read books for school, you also read more books just for yourself and to make yourself happy. Reading is something that makes you happy and calm.

To end this post, I just wanted to say to all my bookworms out there. Keep being bookworms, reading is a beautiful thing and never stop reading.

Nikon DSLR Photography ~ Part 2

Hey Dreamers! Today, I have the second part of the Nikon DSLR Photography posts. Some of these are just random, but most of them are of a tree in our neighbors backyard. It hangs a little over our backyard, and during December, it has fall leaves. I decided to call it “Fall too late.” I hope you like the pictures!

I hope you liked the photographs, and isn’t the stuffed polar bear adorable? Some of my favorite pictures were the last two. I think those came out really good. Which photograph was your favorite? Tell me in the comments. Bye!

Optimism + Being Positive

Hey Dreamers! It’s been some time since I’ve done a rant and I really wanted to talk about something. So, here I am.

Today, I wanted to talk about optimism and being positive. I feel like it’s a concept that’s often misunderstood. Let’s start of by looking at what being optimistic means.

Being optimistic is . . .

  • Believing that the best is yet to come
  • Finding good in the bad
  • Making the best of every moment
  • Hoping for the best
  • And much more . . .

Now, let’s look at what being optimistic is not.

Being optimistic is not . . .

  • Being happy all the time
  • Being overconfident
  • Being oblivious

Why being optimistic/positive is important

I know a few people that sort of think that being positive is not really a good thing. And I do understand why. Some people think that if they are positive or they expect good things, they will be disappointed. I admit, I used to think that way for quite a while, until I learnt otherwise. I think being optimistic is important because, when you expect good things to happen, you’re most likely going to work hard to make good things happen. When you have high goals for yourself, and if you’re positive and believe that you can succeed, you will want to work hard so you can succeed. But, if you keep telling yourself that you can’t do it, you’re going to feel like giving up and then you’ll never be able to succeed.

I also think that it’s important to focus on the good things. I’m not saying that you can never be sad or upset, I also think it’s important to show your emotions, but I think that it’s not good to always dwell on the things that make you feel bad. If you keep focusing on the bad, then you will never be able to make the best of life. Always remember that things always get better, and if things aren’t going well, you are the only one that can change that.

Misconceptions

Imagine a positive person. Most people will imagine a girl in a pretty dress skipping through a field of daisies singing to herself. This is NOT what being positive looks like. Being positive doesn’t mean being happy all the the time. It means believing in making the best of every moment.  Some people think that optimistic people are oblivious and they don’t know about the bad things happening in the world. That’s not true, I consider myself to be a positive person and I do know all the issues of the world, I just choose to believe that someday things will get better. People also tend to think that optimists are always very confident about themselves. But that is not true. Being positive is not about “I am going to win”, it’s about “I am going to try my best.”

I hope you liked that post and I hope it gave you something to think about. What do you think about this? Tell me in the comments.

(Look who finally made a sign off)

2017 Reflection

Hey Dreamers! I can’t believe that 2017 is coming to an end. This year has been so amazing! I’ve loved every moment of this year and I’m so excited for what 2018 has in store for me. I wanted to reflect on this year to see what I’ve achieved.

Resolutions

I did a post on my new year’s resolutions this year. And you can go back and read it, but beware! It’s not my best post. But, I wanted to reflect on how I did on my resolutions.

Green= Accomplished

Purple= Kind of accomplished

Red= Not Accomplished

Write in my diary everyday

I actually did pretty well on this, in the first few months. Then we went to India, during summer vacation and I was, so busy that I didn’t have the energy or time to write in it. When we came back, I didn’t feel like writing in it, so I took a long break. Then, one of my favorite teachers started a “Creative Journaling” club. I went to the club with my friends and I started a new journal. I started feeling more comfortable with the new journal. So I don’t write in it everyday, but I do write in it often.

Try writing everyday

I definitely wrote a lot more this year, but I don’t think I wrote everyday.  But, I definitely think I improved at writing.

Improve at music and art

Yes! I think I improved a lot at playing the piano. I learnt a lot more. I also did a lo of art this year. I have this sketchbook that I’ve drawn a lot in, and I can really see how much I’ve improved.

Blog often

I am so proud of myself for this one. I blogged so much more this year, and I enjoyed it so much. The results of blogging often, made me really happy.

Study well

I wasn’t really sure about this one, but I think I studied pretty well.

Try something new

I’m not sure about this one either. I’m sure I did try some new things, but I just can’t remember them right now.

Read a lot

I did read a lot! I’ve read seventy four books (including a few re-reads) and counting.

Have the best year

Definitely one of the best!

Blogging

Blogging was one of the best parts of this year. Here are some stats:

Dreamer Diaries #2

Hey Dreamers! Today I decided to do another Dreamer Diaries post. Here we go:

♥♥♥♥♥

I have 59 followers right now. Wheeeeeeee! That’s a lot. My goal is to get to a 100 before the year ends. I have my fingers crossed that we can get there.

♥♥♥♥♥

Believe it or not I still haven’t designed my dividers and sign~off. Like my header, I wanted to draw something and use that for the sign~off and dividers The problem is, I have no idea about what I want to draw.

Any ideas for what I should do for my sign~off and dividers?

If you do, please leave a comment.

I finally finished reading Harry Potter. It was amazing. Once, I had put a hold on it from the school library. I waited three months for it, and I still didn’t get it. Now that I’m in 7th grade, my Language Arts teacher had the book in her little classroom library. I immediately asked her if I could borrow it. She said yes, so I spent days carrying that book around everywhere.

If you could have one of the three hallows: the invisibility cloak, the resurrection stone or the elder wand. Which one would you choose?

I would pick the invisibility cloak.

For all the book dragons out there like me, do you ever love a book so much that you carry it around everywhere just in case you have time to read it?

At the start of the school year, the school told us that they were going to have a time capsule that would be opened in about 10~20 years. So we were put into groups, and each group had to make an artifact that represents the school. The school chose 4 artifacts that would go in the time capsule. I was in a group with 3 other amazing girls. This is what we made:

Yup! A mini~library. Isn’t it adorable? They chose ours! YAY! The principal told us that she loved ours very much and she asked us to give a speech in front of the whole school. We were the only student speakers. We were so excited! It went great. Yesterday my mom took me and 2 of the other girls for ice cream to celebrate.

If you built a time capsule, what would you put in it?

♥♥♥♥♥

I hope you enjoyed that post. Have a great day!

Dreamer Diaries

Hey Dreamers! Today I’m going to start a new series on my blog called Dreamer Diaries where I tell you anything and everything about my life. And I made up this series just in case somedays I don’t have time to write a quality post. So I’ll just write one of these!

Okay let’s begin. I have a few questions for you:

Did you notice the new blog design?

Do you like it?

So, I sat down to write a post and then I decided: “You know, it’s time to change my blog design. Then I got out my sketchbook and drew a bunch of headers I could use. I tested out multiple themes. I finally chose one and tried my favorite on it. It didn’t work. So I went through many others until I found this one. By the way, this theme is called Penscratch 2. And then I thought the header looked to plain. So, I went to picmonkey and edited the photo/drawing and put a quote on it to fit my blog. And here it is. I really hope you like it. I love it. The theme is really customizable you can do anything with it.

♥♥♥♥♥

On to other things. This year I had to move schools because they built a new school and I have to go to the new school. So in the last 3 years, I have switched school 3 times! Isn’t that crazy?!

♥♥♥♥♥

My dad’s birthday is coming up soon. Me and my mom have picked out a gift for him. And I’m going to make something that I will reveal after his birthday. Just in case he decides to read this blog.

Any of you celebrating a birthday this month?

♥♥♥♥♥

Do you ever have the feeling that you’re forgetting something when you’re actually not? And then your day becomes even worse because you actually DID forget something very important.

♥♥♥♥♥

Right now I’m reading a book called Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan. A few days ago I finished a really good book. It’s called A Mango~Shaped Space by Wendy Mass. It’s an amazing book. I recommend it to everyone.

Have you read any of the books I mentioned above?

What book are you currently reading?

♥♥♥♥♥

And with that I conclude this post. I hope you guys like these kinds of posts. New sign-offs and dividers coming soon!
